Test system
for
Solar Inverters
|
|
| |
The product range of Spitzenberger & Spies among
others, contains a complete test system for solar inverters,
including mains simulation with power feedback unit and a
PV-simulator (PV = photo voltaic).
The fast PV-simulator imitates the solar panel and because
the properties of these panels can be programmed it is possible
to simulate several types and their exact characteristics.
Both stable and variable conditions can be set up in advance.
Because of this these conditions can be reproduced and are
available for EMC-measurements. The output of the solar inverter
is linked to the mains simulation unit which carries out the
emission and immunity tests according to EN-standards. The
recovery unit ensures a considerably low heat generation so
the test system is suitable for testing inverters from low
power up to more than 100 kW.
The 4-quadrant amplifier of the PAS-series, with specifications
mentioned below is the basic principle for the mains simulation:
- very low harmonic distortion, even under extreme non-lineair
conditions;
- short rise time of > 52 V/ms (slew rate > 5 m at 230
Vrms in accordance with EN61000-4-11);
- large band width from DC to 5 kHZ (- 3 dB), which can be
optionally extended up to 30 kHz
- band width for small signals up to 50 or 100 kHz;
- low internal impedance of 2mOhms.
This system is an ARS (analyser reference system) for the
analysis of harmonics and flicker in accordance with IEC 61000-3-2
and IEC 61000-3-3. The digital flickermeter meets the requirements
of IEC 61000-4-15 and the real time harmonics analyser is
in accordance with
IEC 61000-4-7. Flicker measurement is done on two channels
and is equipped with a calibrated mains impedance network.
In particular for currents > 16 amps a mains impedance
simulation is available. To be able to measure correctly on
solar inverters (but also other sources such as wind generators,
CHP's etc. that supply energy back to the grid) and in accordance
with the current standards, the simulation system must be
able to process high currents. The power feedback unit of
the PVS, brings about an increase of the absorbed power by
means of energy recovery. It behaves like a resistor which
is always exactly high enough to absorb energy which is generated
by the E.U.T. This adaptation to optimum value occurs in less
than 1mS.
The energy is lead back to the mains with a high efficiency
ratio.

Inspection of the fibre and cleaning the connectors are critical
actions with optical fibre networks, certainly for 10 G connections
and even higher speeds. Through acquisition of Westover, JDSU
has gained a complete range of solutions for inspection of
fibre components for system suppliers, communication services
and contractors for both in- and outdoor networks.
The current initiatives and investments with FTTH have an
interest in keeping the service quality in competition with
the telecom-operator and cable suppliers at a reliable level.
Optical control inspection and cleaning of the connections
are essential for these services.
With the product-port folio of Westover JDSU incorporates
an extension on their test and measurement range that meets
the demands of increasing band widths and desired reliability.
As partner of JDSU, Air-Parts B.V. provides these solutions
which improve performance.

New range of Power Supplies
|
|
| |
We are happy to inform you that F.u.G. recently introduced
a new range of power supplies for low, middle and high voltage.
The NCN series
The NCN series is a low voltage power supply
which is developed consistent with the latest technologies.
The NCN series is available in 6 different versions with power
ratings of 1250, 2500 or 5000 Watts.
Output voltages are 0 to 30 or 0 to 50 volts.
The MCP series
The MCP series is the successor of the MCL and
the MCN range.
No concessions have been done regarding quality and ease of
use. Of the 42 different models, the output voltage can vary
between 0 and 2000 volts with power ratings of 35 to 4200
Watts! The outputs of these power supplies are "floating".
The positive or the negative output can be connected to ground.
The HCP series
The HCP series succeeds the successful HCL and
HCN high voltage range.
In this range no less than 52 models are available, so there
is always an appropriate supply for your high voltage application.
The ouput voltage is adjustable from 0 to 150000 volts at
powers up to 4200 Watts!
New on the HCP series is the possibility for electronic polarity
reversal up to 35 kV.
All F.u.G power supplies can be controlled locally
as well as remote by means of digital RS 232; RS 485 and/or
IEEE interfaces. New is RS422, the USB and LAN interfaces.
Moreover analog control and read out are also possible.

RF Shieldbox from Willtek
|
|
| |
- Willtek Communications announced the 4933 RF Shield,
supporting radiation and quality measurements at large radio
transceivers, notebook PCs and other electronic equipment.
It combines a high shielding factor with easy access to
the unit under test. The new device from Willtek's successful
RF Shield series is immediately available.
The 4933 RF Shield attenuates signals from outside or even
inside by a high degree. The attenuation, in conjunction
with the RF connector, enables radio frequency and quality
engineers to measure the radiation of the device under test
in an EMC prequalification test, without the need to rent
a large anechoic shielded chamber. Other applications include
transceiver tests in a controlled environment.
Tom Riedl, product manager at Willtek, said, "The 4933
RF Shield is the result of our experience with smaller shielding
devices for the mobile phone market, and also of our market
research on shielded chambers for other applications such
as radio meters, notebook PCs and bulkier devices. Based
on our good reputation in the cellular business, we have
been asked to design something larger that overcomes the
disadvantages of existing offerings."
Willtek's 4933 RF Shield comes with a solenoid lock and
a control panel displaying the status of the lock. Thanks
to a USB interface, an external PC can read the status and
even release the lock remotely.
