Low Noise Millimeter-Wave Broadband Mixer Subsystem for EW/ECM/ELINT RequirementsMITEQ’s new Model SYS0216N01R-LNB millimeter-wave dual-channel block converter covers two bands over 18 to 40 GHz. One channel converts 18 to 26 GHz down to an 8 to 16 GHz output, and the second converts 26 to 40 GHz down to a 2 to 16 GHz output. This compact 2 ½” x 3” unit is shown above, and with optional local oscillators, this unit is now configured as a low noise block converter (LNB). The converter is ideal for broadband millimeter-wave receivers such as for EW/ECM/ELINT requirements or test equipment frequency extension. The unit employs LO multipliers to facilitate the use of lower frequency microwave LO’s. This model is designed for military environments.
Broadband Power Amplifier FamilyA series of 6-8, 12-18 and 8-18 GHz amplifiers are introduced by MITEQ Inc., covering 30 dBm to 34 dBm. The Model AMF-8B-08001800-40-33P delivers over 33 dBm of power over full band of 8-18 GHz, with over 40 dB gain and ±2.5 dB flatness. Noise figure is less than 4 dB, port VSWR is less than 2:1, and it draws about 3A from a single +12 to +15V DC supply. The housing has a footprint of only 3” by 1.9” and 0.9” high with SMA connectors. Heatsink and other control features are also available as options.
Ka-Band Ultra Small and Low Noise Coaxial LNA
MITEQ Inc. introduces a new addition, Model AMF-5F-18002200-17-10P, to its family of extremely low noise and ultra small coaxial LNAs in the 18-22 GHz band. This LNA has over 40 dB of gain in a housing that is only 8 mm high and 16 mm long without the field-replaceable K-connectors. Gain flatness is a maximum of ±1.5 dB, though typical is ±0.75 dB. The AMF-5F-18002200-17-10P has a maximum noise figure of 1.7 dB in the full band, and typical is 1.5 dB. It operates from -40 to +75°C, has a P1dB of minimum 10 dBm, IP3 of typically 20 dBm, and a current draw of maximum 180 mA from a single +15V DC supply. Port VSWR is less than 2:1 for both input and output. Other models with typical gains ranging from 23 to 47 dB are available in two sizes of housings, with smaller one only 12 mm long without the connectors. The aluminum alloy housing provides excellent thermal performance in addition to being very small and light. Hermetic sealing is an option.
L-band to Ka-band or Ka-band to L-band MixerMITEQ is offering a new line of mixers designed specifically for Satellite applications. The TBS2731LW1 is ideally suited for converting from L-band to Ka-band or Ka-band to L-band. The mixer has superb conversion loss and VSWRs as well as excellent spurious response and outstanding LO isolations. This device meets rugged environmental MIL specs, operates over a -54 to +85°C temperature range and is ideal for rugged Military and Commercial system applications.
Miniature Low Noise Ka-Band Waveguide LNA.
MITEQ’s Model AMFW-6F-18102120-120 is part of a new line of low profile, lightweight, small volume, and high dynamic range Ka-band very low noise amplifiers. The new SATCOM LNA family offers a unique combination of features and performance in an extremely small footprint. Total weight is approximately 125 grams maximum, has a pressurizable waveguide at the input, and package profile is 104 mm x 22 mm x 34.5 mm. The input conforms to WR42 and is available in grooved or flat flange. See Outline 165402 on our website for more details. Numerous models cover 18.10 to 21.5 GHz in various sub-bands of 1 GHz and wider, with P1dB of 10 to 23 dBm across the full band. The AMFW-6F-18102120-120 has a typical noise temperature of 100 K° with a maximum of 120 K°. The LNA includes full internal regulation, as well as reverse voltage protection. Input and output VSWR is a maximum of 1.25:1 and 1.5:1 respectively. Small signal gain is 50 dB minimum, with a flatness of ±1 dB maximum. Maximum ripple is 0.4 dB/40 MHz within the entire band.
MITEQ introduces a new addition, Model AMFWW-5F-22502357-140-WR34, to its very low noise waveguide LNA family. It has WR34 standard waveguide input and output, only 2” long and 0.75” high and wide, limited by the flange size solely. This very small LNA weighs only 25 grams and it is environmentally sealed. The AMFWW-5F-22502357-140-WR34 has a gain of 45 dB from 22.5 GHz to 23.6 GHz, flat to ±1 dB maximum, noise temperature of 140K° maximum but close to 100K° at 23 GHz and draws less than 100 mA from a single +8V to +15V supply. It has a P1dB of 13 dBm and maximum port VSWR of 2:1.
MITEQ Inc. introduces this new amplifier to its family of waveguide LNAs. Model JDM2WK-26504000-25-10P is a very low noise, high dynamic range Ka-band waveguide front end with WR-28 waveguide input and K(F) connector output. Additional options include pressure windows and three flange configurations, choke, grooved, and cover. The low-noise amplifier is lightweight and has a small profile and footprint.
